Dexis Wins USAID Contract to Strengthen Local Organizations in Kenya

Washington, D.C. – Dexis announced today that the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded the Company a $16 million contract to provide organizational development support to local development organizations in Kenya.

USAID’s Journey to Self-Reliance (J2SR) and 2020 U.S. Presidential Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) strategy calls for countries to increase their capacity to plan, finance, and implement their development activities effectively, inclusively, and with accountability to move towards sustainability. Dexis will strengthen the role and capacity of local development organizations, existing local Kenyan entities, and local governments.

“Supporting local organizations in Kenya is not a new thing for USAID. What makes this activity compelling is its tight link to the Agency’s J2SR initiative. Dexis is thrilled to be given this level of responsibility to shape the outcomes for organizations in Kenya and be a model for locations worldwide,” said Mihir Desai, Chief Executive Officer.

Dexis will apply the proven Collaborating, Learning, and Adapting (CLA) methodology developed by USAID and exemplified by the Learning and Knowledge Management Support Project (LEARN) contract currently managed by the Dexis. The work will involve identifying and prioritizing partners, adapting existing industry-standard assessment tools, conducting initial targeted collaborative assessments, and developing individualized implementation plans with each organization, or entity.
