Dexis conducted high-quality, utilization-focused evaluations and assessments of projects and activities across the USAID’s Bureau for Global Health (GH) portfolio.
Context
USAID’s Bureau for Global Health (GH) works to prevent child and maternal deaths, control the HIV/AIDS epidemic, and combat infectious diseases with a focus on health systems strengthening and breakthrough innovation. The GH Bureau uses evaluations to improve ongoing activities and create a knowledge base for more effective development programs.
The USAID Global Health Evaluation and Learning Support Activity (GH EvaLS) project built on Dexis’ five years of experience providing technical and evaluation support to the GH Bureau through the Global Health Program Cycle Improvement contract (2014-2019).
Approach
Dexis supported ME&A, Inc. to conduct high-quality, utilization-focused evaluations and assessments of projects and activities across the GH Bureau portfolio. The team’s technical approach emphasized engaging with local partners and employing innovative evaluation techniques.
GH EvaLS also promoted learning and adaptive management throughout the USAID/GH community by synthesizing evidence, conducting technical reviews, facilitating global evidence exchanges, and leading the development of Learning Agendas that highlight key research and evaluation questions on GH sectors and themes.
