On-demand analytics and support in conflict-affected areas.

Context

Dexis provides on-demand technical assistance and assessment services in countries experiencing political change and fragile states for USAID’s Office of Transition Initiatives (USAID/OTI). Dexis currently implements two projects under START providing both targeted data analytics and reporting and community-level conflict analysis, as well as short- and long-term technical, programmatic, and logistical support in the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.

Approach

In Syria, Dexis implemented the USAID/OTI Syria Information Collection Analysis and Monitoring (ICAM) program, provided data collection, analysis, and third-party monitoring to USAID/OTI’s Syria Regional Program II. ICAM provided timely information on political, security, societal, and economic developments inside Syria to inform programming decisions made by the program and other U.S. development assistance practitioners and foreign policy decision-makers. The program produced long- and short-cycle request for information reports, biweekly atmospherics reporting in target geographies, in-depth community-level context analysis, output verification, and qualitative and quantitative perceptions and thematic monitoring.

Through Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean Regional Technical and Operational Support III Task Order (AFRLAC III), Dexis provides short- and long-term technical assistance; research capacity; direct distribution of goods and services; and operational, logistical, and programmatic support to inform, manage and implement USAID/OTI–funded activities in Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Dexis provides a variety of monitoring and technical and operational staffing support in areas including Chad, the Lake Chad Basin, and Somalia.
